President Duarte called the NOW Banquet to order at 6:30pm, and welcomed all attendees. He then introduced guests and club members.

Chaplain Bingham then led our invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Stars and Stripes.

We had a great turnout, both members and invited guests. Ed Clark estimates there were close to 20 prospective members attending. I thought the dinner was very good, consisting of Spiced Grilled Chicken, stuffed tomato, green beans, pasta, salad, and a great chocolate chip pie.

The following members shared their responsibilities and experiences with our guests:

The club expresses its appreciation to these members for eloquently describing the inner workings of the club. Also, thanks to Buddy Beck, Tom Casteel, and Clyde Nevins for welcoming and registering our guests.

Special thanks to Ed Clark, who coordinated in Duane's absence, and did a find job in spite of little help and an occasional lapse of faith.

If your prospective member could not come, or you didn't invite anyone, please keep your eyes open and invite prospects to our luncheon meeting. The membership drive will not end with the NOW banquet.

Yours truly gave a shortened version of the keynote address. The emphasis was on the Optimist Club's unique joint objectives, namely community involvement to benefit youth, and personal growth through styling one's life around the Optimist Creed.

We closed as always with the Optimist Creed.
